Catechins are secondary plant compounds responsible for the special taste and health benefits of matcha.
Caffeine
Our matcha contains 2.9% natural caffeine, which is approximately 60 mg per serving (2 g). The caffeine comes exclusively from green tea and is a natural component of high-quality matcha. Due to the combination with other plant-based ingredients, matcha differs significantly from coffee in taste and character. One serving is roughly equivalent to the caffeine content of an espresso.
L-Theanine
L-theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid found almost exclusively in tea plants. Due to the use of the whole tea leaf, Matcha is considered a natural source of L-theanine. The gentle processing preserves these plant components in their original form – a quality feature of high-quality Matcha.
